The NCTAG is the “North Coast Teen Authors’ Group” and is a group of teen authors (grades 7-12) who meet twice a month by Zoom to discuss writing, their work, and stories/writings of interest to the group’s members.
When and Where
The group meets by Zoom every second and fourth Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM (starting Sept. 27th).

About the Facilitator – Tom Kertes
North Coast teacher Tom Kertes, who teaches middle school in Prince Rupert, facilitates the group’s meetings. Prior to teaching middle school, Tom (who actually goes by “Curtis” as his first name) was an English and Drama teacher at GidGalang Kuuyas Naay Secondary in Haida Gwaii.
All North Coast Teen Authors Are Welcome
Teen authors (grades 7-12) from the North Coast region of BC are welcome to join the NCTAG.
This includes all teen authors who live in the territories of the Gitxsan, Haida, Heiltsuk, Haisla, Nisga’a, and Ts’msyen Nations, including teen authors living in the following towns and villages: Gingolx, Gitlaxt’aamiks, Gitwinksihlkw, Hartley Bay, Lawn Hill, Lax Kw’alaams, Laxgalts’ap, Masset, Metlakatla, Miller Creek, Old Massett, Port Clements, Port Edward, Prince Rupert, Queen Charlotte, Sandspit, Skidegate, Terrace, Tlell, and Tow Hill.
